I had my gallbladder removal on Tues. August 31, and I am pleased to say that it went well. They were able to do it with the least amount of invasiveness possible, and I went home just 6 hours after I got there. The downside is that the pain meds they gave me didn't work after the first day. For whatever reason, Vicoden didn't work at all after the first day, it usually works well for me (ie for kidney stones even.) So I called my doctor and they prescribed me some Percocet. Well the Percocet works great for pain relief, but it made me sick to my stomach, and I ended up heaving which after any sort of abdominal surgery is a HUGE no no. I stopped taking any pain meds. Man am I sore. I ended up giving in and taking the Percocet at night with a Zofran so that I could sleep, because other wise I couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep at all. sigh. Hopefully we will heal quickly and not have to worry about it at all anymore.
Ok enough whining about that! Thanks for listening... it's been a journey that is for sure!
