Food Network Junkie

*This is a blog post about me... boring old me. lol*

Ok. Ok. I confess I am a total FN junkie.  I can't get enough.  The funny part is, is I am such a picky eater that I won't eat most of what they make on there but I get such good ideas and learn so much.  No really... I am really picky.  I love the flavor of onion, but I hate the texture of it.  The thought of mushrooms make me cringe, and seafood... we won't go there.  I don't eat fish either.  Andy mentioned maybe getting some duck last night and trying it and I just about had a panic attack. lol!  When I was younger I was much worse, vegetables were non existent in my diet and very little fruit was in there too.

It isn't so much taste, it is more textures than anything.  I'm sure it is really annoying for Andy because he likes so many things.  We both prefer our red meats well done, and catch a lot of flack about that when we go out.  "Come back tomorrow" or  " You like the beef jerky huh?"  Are things we have heard in the past. I find myself wondering sometimes what made me like this... because my mom and dad have a wide variety of foods that they like and love.  Wish I was more courageous and more willing to try new things.

Tonight for dinner we are having macaroni and cheese and chicken wrapped in bacon and rubbed in chili powder and brown sugar.  Both recipes I got from Paula Deen (FN) and I am really excited to try them.  It smells amazing as they cook in the oven, I hope they taste just as good. ;)  I'll be sure to let you know and maybe share the recipes (although you can look on FN.com and find them.) I'll add pics when they come out of the oven... if I don't eat them first. ;)

duck is actually really good...at least I think so. It's more tender then chicken, and has a bit more flavor :) Good luck trying new recipes though!! Cooking new things is always fun!
